This past year, I had the privilege of working with some of the most extraordinary thought leaders on the planet in growing their businesses and increasing their revenues internationally. During my work with them, we opened new profit centers, expanded current operations, and built new divisions of our companies. What we found and continue to find in the second decade of the 21st century is a company that is steadily and strategically advancing its momentum all around the world.
Working with the Motivational Press team, we added more than 25 authors last year to our catalog in 2011. Our quarterly book sales increased over 15% from that of 2010 and we exceeded our long-term growth target for newly signed authors and operating income.
Our newest entity, Expert Media Relations had an amazing ear with a 30% growth by the end of 2011. We are now representing clients throughout the US, UK and Australia as we grow our business relationships with media outlets throughout the world. This year, our clients number of booked appearances grew by 50%.
As you will see in 2012 and in the years to come, our business and our brands are stronger and growing around the world. In 2011, we gained volume and value market share globally as well as in the United States.
As we continue to grow our business internationally, I have always been committed to maintaining North America as the top priority as a center of growth and innovation for Justin Sachs Companies. Over the next 10 years and beyond, the United States will have some of the world’s most attractive demographics for our business. By 2020, the United States will add about 31 million people, and its teen population will also be around 31 million. Only India and China will have larger teen populations. With this in mind, Justin Sachs Companies will be expanding its focus on Teen based products through Motivational Press and Justin Sachs Productions (The Movie Division of Motivational Press)
Our plan for continued growth starts with our strong brands. Our focus is on accelerating profitable growth and share within the publishing industry led by Motivational Press, Inc. At the same time, we are moving aggressively to increase the value of our new operations with Expert Media Relations, and Social Media University.
